
Jun Senoue is a 54 y/o Japanese guitarist and composer who founded Crush 40, a Japanese-American rock band with vocalist Johnny Gioeli in 2000. Crush 40 is well known for their involvement in the Sonic the Hedgehog series and numerous Sega properties. The band consists of four members, three of which being Japanese with their vocalist being American. After moving with his family to Panama at age 5, Senoue was inspired to take up electric guitar at age 12 after watching the MTV network, which featured various styles of American music. This inspired Senoue's musical influence over the Sonic series lead him to becoming lead sound director, and still holds this position to this day.
